No-Drill Lagun Mount (Sprinter B-Pillar) Installation Guide
-
T45 Torx Bit (for the factory D-Ring bolt)
(2) 10mm Wrenches or Sockets or one of each (for the M6 seat base nylock nuts, and seat base bolts)
13mm Wrench or Socket (for the M8 Lagun bracket nylock nuts)
Phillips Screwdriver (for the Lagun bracket bolts)
-
Remove the D-Ring: Locate the factory D-Ring at the bottom of your B-Pillar (Driver or Passenger side). Use the T45 Torx to remove the bolt.
Note: Keep the bolt (you will reuse it). Set the D-Ring hardware aside (it is not used with the mount).
Locate Seat Holes: Identify the two factory holes on the rear, outboard side of your seat base (closest to the door). Ensure these are clear of any plastic trim or carpet.
-
Tip: Because this mount uses a 2-piece design, assemble the "sandwich" loosely before bolting it to the van.
Orientation Note: Identify the face with the Larger (M8) holes—this is where the Lagun bracket attaches. The side with the Smaller (M6) holes is what bolts to your seat base.
Why are there extra slots? Since this mount is fully reversible (Driver/Passenger and Low Seat Base/High Seat Base), you will see unused slots on the mounting flange. This is intentional; those are for aligning the mount on the opposite side of the vehicle, or with the other seat base variant.
Combine the Plates: Slide the U-shaped part into the slot of the L-shaped part.
The "Open" side of the U-shape should face away from the B-Pillar.
The L-shaped part (with the lower D-Ring hole) should sit inside the U-shaped part, with its L-shaped foot pointing away from the open U-shape and toward the B-Pillar.
Attach Lagun Bracket: Place your Lagun Mounting Bracket (not included) against the face of the aluminum assembly.
Bolt Together: Insert your M8 Lagun mounting bolts through the Lagun bracket and through both Stoutlander aluminum plates.
Important: Make sure the large washers are positioned on the back side, ahead of the M8 nylock nut.
Snug (Don't Torque): Use your 13mm wrench/socket and screwdriver to tighten these M8 bolts just enough so the assembly holds together as one solid unit but can still shift slightly for alignment.
-
D-Ring Bolt: Place the assembly against the B-Pillar. Thread the factory T45 Torx bolt back into the D-Ring hole.
Critical: Do not fully tighten yet. Leave it loose enough to wiggle the bracket.
Seat Base Bolts : Align the appropriate slots of the mount with the two factory holes in your seat base.
Insert the included M6 bolts through the mount and into the seat base holes.
Open the driver side door and remove the plastic access door on the side of the seat base to gain access to the M6 bolts you just inserted.
IMPORTANT: Place a supplied washer onto the bolt threads first, then thread on the M6 nylock nut. (Ensure the washer is between the seat metal and the nut).
-
Seat Base First: Once all three mounting points are threaded, tighten the Seat Base bolts first. Use your 10mm wrenches/sockets to tighten the M6 nuts from inside the base.
B-Pillar Second: Torque the T45 D-Ring bolt down firmly.
Lagun Bracket Last: Finally, ensure the Lagun bracket is aligned. Use your Phillips screwdriver to hold the bolt heads from the front while you use your 13mm socket to torque down the M8 nylock nuts on the back.
-
Step 5: Finish Slide your Lagun arm onto the bracket, adjust to your desired height, and you are ready to go!
